Help for ironTracker Β· Version 1.1.10 Β· iPhone Β· iPad Β· Apple Watch
Tap a question to expand the answer.
On the main screen, select a workout program. Tap the βΆ Play button on the right to start immediately, or tap the program name to set your strength level first.
After selecting your strength level, the workout starts with a configurable preparation countdown (default: 20 seconds, adjustable under Settings β Preparation Time) before the first work interval begins.
Strength levels (1β30 in 0.5 steps) represent your training intensity β for example, the weight setting on a machine. You enter your current maximum manually before each workout.
The intensity per set is pre-configured in each program: every set has an offset (e.g. Set 1: β2 levels, Set 2: β1 level, Set 3: Maximum). You can customise these offsets for each set in the program editor. During training, the strength level can be fine-tuned at any time using the +/β buttons.
Tap the + button in the top right of the Workout tab. You can configure sets, work duration, rest duration, icon, color, and the strength level offset for each individual set.
Programs can be organized into collections (folders) and reordered via drag and drop.
Long-press a program in the Workout tab and choose Edit β or swipe left on a program and tap the pencil icon.
In the editor, you can adjust:
The built-in programs (6-30-50, 3-80-100, 3-30-60) can also be edited β ironTracker automatically creates a personal copy so the originals can always be restored via the context menu.
Collections are folders that let you group workout programs by theme β for example by machine, body area, or day of the week.
To create a collection: tap the + button in the top right of the Workout tab and choose New Collection. Give it a name and it will appear as a collapsible section in your list.
Moving programs into a collection:
Collections can be renamed, deleted, or reordered via long-press. They can be collapsed and expanded to keep your list tidy.
Yes. Long-press a collection and choose Start Collection. ironTracker will automatically guide you through all programs in the collection back-to-back β each with its own preparation countdown and strength level.
This is ideal for structured circuit training sessions where you move through multiple machines or exercises in sequence without having to navigate manually between programs.
Long-press a workout program and choose Mark as Favourite (star icon). Favourites are highlighted prominently in the program list and appear at the top within their collection.
With iCloud Sync enabled, favourite markings are automatically synced to all your connected devices. Without iCloud, favourites are stored locally on each iPhone separately.
Yes. ironTracker offers two widgets for the iOS Home Screen:
To add a widget: long-press your Home Screen β tap + in the top left β search for "ironTracker" β choose a size β tap Add Widget.
Widgets update automatically after each completed workout.
Yes. ironTracker runs natively on both iPhone and iPad (iOS/iPadOS 17+). All training features, programs, collections, and workout history are fully available on both devices.
Apple Watch connectivity, HealthKit integration, and iCloud Sync work the same way on iPad as on iPhone.
iPhone and Apple Watch automatically sync programs, settings, and strength levels via Apple WatchConnectivity β no iCloud or internet connection required.
The Watch app works fully standalone without an iPhone nearby. Changes are transferred when the next connection is established.
Heart rate data is only captured when:
1. An Apple Watch is paired and worn on the wrist during the workout, or
2. An external Bluetooth HR sensor is connected (Settings β Bluetooth HR).
Heart rate monitoring is not available on iPhone or iPad without a Watch or BLE sensor.
In the workout history, you can export individual sessions as FIT files (compatible with Garmin Connect, Strava, and others). Swipe left on a session and tap the export icon.
From Settings, you can also export full backup files (.itbackup) of your complete workout history and programs.
Use one of these methods:
Option 1 β iCloud Backup: Restoring from an iCloud backup automatically transfers app data.
Option 2 β ironTracker Backup: Export a backup file under Settings β Backup, then import it on the new device.
Option 3 β iCloud Sync: Enable optional iCloud sync to keep data in sync across all your devices automatically.
ironTracker stores all data locally on your device by default. iCloud Sync is an optional feature you can enable under Settings β iCloud Sync.
What is synced:
